Head of Engineering, Up to a $250K base, Remote, Blockchain experience is needed (Go, Rust, or TypeScript preferred), Distributed Systems
A fast-growing blockchain startup is building advanced cross-chain infrastructure connecting AI, financial systems, and decentralized applications. They’re looking for a Head of Engineering to lead a world-class distributed team and drive the technical vision behind their next-generation protocol stack.
Responsibilities:
- Define and execute the long-term engineering strategy
- Lead and mentor a globally distributed team of senior engineers and technical leads
- Oversee architecture, code quality, and delivery across multiple product lines
- Partner with product, research, and operations teams to align technology with business priorities
- Ensure performance, reliability, and security across all on-chain and off-chain systems
- Stay hands-on with technical design and implementation in key areas as needed
Requirements:
- 10+ years of software engineering experience, including 4+ years in engineering leadership
- Deep background in distributed systems, cryptography, or high-performance infrastructure
- Proven success leading teams building blockchain or large-scale financial platforms
- Strong proficiency in modern backend and systems languages (Go, Rust, or TypeScript preferred)
- Experience scaling teams and processes in high-growth, globally distributed environments
- Excellent communication, strategic thinking, and execution skills
Nice to have:
- Familiarity with cross-chain protocols, secure enclaves, or multi-party computation
- Understanding of tokenomics or incentive-based system design
- Background in AI, DeFi, or real-time trading systems
- Experience contributing to or managing open-source projects
This is a fully remote global role offering up to $250K base salary, plus the opportunity to shape the future of decentralized infrastructure.
