Job Description


A leading international professional services firm is seeking a Senior Manager to lead its global Learning & Development function across multiple jurisdictions including Europe, Africa, and Asia.


This role is pivotal in shaping the firm’s people development strategy and ensuring alignment with broader business objectives.


The role is based in the firms office in Jersey, Channel Islands and will involve relocating.


Key Responsibilities

  • Lead a geographically dispersed team of L&D professionals, ensuring high performance and strategic delivery.
  • Develop and evolve the internal learning brand and content to support employee engagement and retention.
  • Oversee the design and implementation of tailored leadership and management programmes, collaborating with external providers to ensure consistency and quality.
  • Deliver learning solutions that embed and reinforce core behavioural competencies across the business.
  • Create and maintain a robust induction programme that provides a consistent onboarding experience across all regions.
  • Ensure all employees are actively engaged with their development plans and have access to relevant learning pathways.
  • Evaluate learning activities to identify trends and inform future strategy; share insights with HR and leadership teams.
  • Leverage technology to enhance learning delivery, including onboarding platforms and digital learning tools.
  • Promote a performance management culture through coaching, training, and process evaluation.
  • Partner with senior leadership to support talent management and succession planning initiatives.
  • Manage professional qualifications, regulatory reporting, and training agreements in collaboration with external bodies.
  • Source and manage third-party providers to support L&D objectives, including contract negotiation and performance evaluation.
  • Oversee administrative functions related to learning activities including scheduling, reporting, and communications.
  • Act as a subject matter expert in L&D, contributing to policy development and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards.
  • Support budget planning and cost management for L&D activities, identifying opportunities for efficiency.
  • Contribute to internal reporting and board-level insights through data analysis and trend identification.
  • Collaborate with HR colleagues across jurisdictions to ensure continuity and consistency of service.
  • Uphold professional standards and act as a role model within the HR function.
  • Ensure GDPR compliance in all data handling and reporting activities.
  • Maintain accuracy and integrity in all processes, supporting quality assurance protocols.
  • Commit to ongoing professional development and knowledge enhancement.


What are they looking for?

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
  • 5–10+ years in Learning & Development, with a strong background in programme design, delivery, and management.
  • Proven leadership experience with the ability to manage teams and complex projects.
  • Expertise in instructional design methodologies (e.g., ADDIE, Agile) and learning technologies (e.g., LMS, e-learning platforms).
  • Excellent communication skills across all levels of an organisation.
  • Strong analytical skills with experience in data-driven decision making.
  • Relevant industry certifications (e.g., CPTM, SHRM-CP/SCP) are advantageous
