Junior Network Engineer (MSP)

About the Role
We are seeking a motivated Junior Network Engineer to join our U.S.-based Managed Service Provider (MSP) team. This is a fully remote position, supporting clients across a variety of industries. The ideal candidate is technically strong, highly organized, and excels at network documentation. You will gain hands-on experience with a range of networking and security technologies, including Fortinet, Sophos, and other enterprise-grade solutions, while contributing to high-quality client solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Configure, monitor, and troubleshoot network infrastructure for clients, including switches, routers, firewalls, and wireless devices.
- Assist with network security implementations and routine maintenance.
- Maintain accurate and detailed documentation for all client networks, configurations, and procedures.
- Support senior engineers in escalations and projects as needed.
- Participate in client communications and provide technical guidance as required.
- Stay up-to-date with the latest networking and security technologies, including Fortinet, Sophos, and similar solutions.
Qualifications
- 1–3 years of experience in networking or IT support, ideally within an MSP environment.
- Strong understanding of network protocols, routing, switching, VPNs, firewalls, and security best practices.
- Hands-on experience with networking and security technologies such as Fortinet, Sophos, or similar.
- Experience with network monitoring tools and documentation standards.
- Exceptional organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently in a remote, U.S. Eastern Standard Time schedule.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Relevant certifications (CCNA, CompTIA Network+/Security+, or equivalent) are a plus.
