This position is posted by Jobgether on behalf of a partner company. We are currently looking for a Senior Cloud Security Engineer in the United States.

This role offers the opportunity to secure cloud-native SaaS environments while working fully remotely with a global team of security professionals. You will take ownership of designing, implementing, and maintaining robust cloud security controls across AWS, Azure, and PaaS platforms. The position emphasizes collaboration with DevOps and platform teams to embed security into infrastructure-as-code workflows, threat modeling, incident response, and compliance initiatives. The ideal candidate is a hands-on engineer with deep cloud expertise, a proactive mindset, and the ability to balance security, usability, and business agility while protecting rapidly growing customer environments.

Accountabilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain secure cloud architectures across AWS, Azure, and PaaS platforms
  • Collaborate with DevOps and platform teams to integrate security into infrastructure-as-code pipelines (Terraform, Spacelift, CI/CD)
  • Lead cloud vulnerability and risk management programs, including threat detection, response, and remediation strategies
  • Conduct threat modeling, architectural reviews, and security evaluations for new and existing services
  • Own end-to-end cloud security controls, ensuring monitoring, governance, and compliance standards are met
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to drive security awareness, best practices, and continuous improvement
  • Provide guidance during incidents, including forensic analysis and postmortem evaluation to strengthen platform resilience


Requirements

  • Extensive experience in cloud security engineering, with deep expertise in AWS and/or Azure
  • Proven background in securing SaaS platforms and cloud-hosted environments
  • Hands-on experience with infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Spacelift) and CI/CD pipelines (CircleCI, Git)
  • Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python or PowerShell for automation, log analysis, and remediation
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native security tooling, identity management, logging, and policy enforcement
  • Experience with incident response processes, vulnerability management, and threat detection/prevention
  • Excellent collaboration, communication, and documentation skills, particularly in remote or distributed teams
  • Familiarity with compliance standards and a flexible, risk-based approach to security
