Senior Data Architect

What You'll Do
We're seeking a forward-thinking, technology-driven Data Architect to lead and grow our client's Databricks practice. In this high-impact role, you'll serve as the go-to technical leader across pre-sales, solution strategy, and platform innovation---helping enterprise clients realize meaningful business value from the Databricks Lakehouse Platform.
You'll shape technical vision for key client engagements, work cross-functionally with sales and delivery teams, and serve as a thought leader representing our client in the broader market. Whether architecting scalable data platforms or whiteboarding solutions that unlock AI potential, you'll be central to expanding our client's presence in the modern data platform ecosystem.
Two Tracks, One Strategic Role
We're open to candidates at different stages of their leadership journey, depending on experience, growth potential, and alignment with our client's Databricks vision:
Emerging Talent Track
- 3--5 years of IT experience
- 1--3 years of Databricks hands-on exposure
- Comfortable supporting pre-sales, building demos, and collaborating with sales engineers
- Eager to grow into a Field CTO role through mentorship, exposure, and real-world experience
Senior Leadership Track
- 10--15 years of IT experience
- 1--5 years of Databricks experience (architecture, governance, ML pipelines)
- Strong technical storytelling skills and executive presence
- Ready to step into a strategic CTO or VP-level role focused on client outcomes, platform innovation, and market differentiation
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Leadership: Lead and manage the Databricks Solutions Engineering team, ensuring alignment with our client's strategic goals and client needs.
- Technical Pre-Sales Support: Collaborate with sales, alliances, and delivery teams to develop and present tailored Databricks solutions to prospective clients, enhancing the sales process.
- Client Engagement: Conduct in-depth technical discovery sessions, solution demonstrations, and whiteboarding exercises with enterprise clients to understand and address their unique challenges.
- Thought Leadership: Contribute to the industry by publishing blogs, participating in webinars, and speaking at conferences to showcase our client's expertise in Databricks and AI solutions.
- Innovation and Best Practices: Stay abreast of the latest developments in Lakehouse architecture, LLMOps, and scalable AI technologies to ensure our client remains at the forefront of innovation.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with product, engineering, and customer success teams to ensure seamless implementation and adoption of Databricks solutions.
Desired Qualifications
- Databricks Expertise: Proven hands-on experience with Databricks, including workspace configuration, Unity Catalog, Delta Lake, and Databricks SQL.
- Modern Data Stack Knowledge: Strong understanding of modern data architectures, including Spark, MLflow, and orchestration tools.
- Technical Background: Experience in platform engineering, data science, or cloud architecture (AWS, Azure, GCP).
- Communication Skills: Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with a track record of successful client engagements.
- Pre-Sales Experience: Previous experience in pre-sales or consulting roles, with the ability to translate technical concepts into business value.
- Leadership Abilities: Demonstrated ability to lead and mentor technical teams, fostering a culture of collaboration and continuous improvement.
