Job Title: Senior Director, Data Science & Insights

Location: Hybrid schedule in Cincinnati, OH / Relocation Provided

Job Summary

Reporting directly to the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) , the Senior Director of Data Science will build and lead a modern Data & Analytics function focused on predictive insights, enterprise metrics, and data-driven decision enablement across the organization.

This is a build opportunity —the chance to establish a scalable data science and analytics foundation that informs everything from marketing and sales strategy to financial performance. This leader will partner closely with Finance, IT, Commercial, and HR to create a culture where insights are seamlessly embedded in day-to-day operations and strategic planning.

This role is designed with a growth trajectory to VP and offers significant visibility and executive partnership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Strategic Leadership & Vision
    • Partner with the CFO and executive leadership to define the vision and roadmap for enterprise Data & Analytics, aligning with corporate strategy and growth targets.
    • Develop a comprehensive annual business plan for the function, driving data maturity and measurable business impact.
    • Own and manage a $3-5M budget , including Market Insights, Retail Analytics, and AEO Search.
    • Build a culture of data-driven enablement , ensuring analytics become an integral part of daily decision-making across business functions.
  • Enterprise Data & Technology Partnership
    • Partner closely with the Enterprise Data Management (EDM) leader in IT, who owns:
      • Oracle Data Warehouse
      • Azure environment (Corporate & Ops Data)
      • Snowflake Data Lake
    • Collaborate to strengthen data accessibility, accuracy, and usability across the enterprise—ensuring a clean, unified data foundation similar to best-in-class CPG environments.
    • Contribute to defining key technology investment plans , serving as a critical partner in building modern data infrastructure.
  • Analytics, Forecasting & Insight Delivery
    • Lead the development of enterprise-level forecasting, predictive analytics, and propensity modeling capabilities to provide forward-looking consumer insights.
    • Build and maintain a monthly enterprise scorecard in partnership with the CFO to track performance against key Financial KPIs.
    • Deliver segmentation and drill-down capabilities to uncover actionable insights at every business level.
    • Champion the integration of AI-driven analytics to anticipate trends, optimize marketing decisions, and drive topline and bottom-line growth.
  • Transformation & Team Development
    • Build and lead a curious, capable, and business-embedded team that proactively engages stakeholders and drives organizational change.
    • Foster a transformation mindset—developing a team that is sought out by leaders for expertise and innovation.
    • Lead change management initiatives to embed analytics into decision-making processes across all functions.
    • Continuously evaluate team structure and talent—hiring, developing, and evolving as needed to meet business needs.
Requirements

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Analytics, Finance, Economics, or a related quantitative field (Master’s preferred).
  • Experience:
    • 10+ years of experience in Data Science, Analytics, or Business Intelligence roles, including leadership experience in a CPG or consumer-focused organization .
    • Proven success building analytics or data science functions from the ground up.
    • Strong background in forecasting, predictive analytics, and financial metric development .
    • Experience partnering closely with Finance and IT to align data initiatives with business outcomes.
    • Track record of leading enterprise-level transformations and implementing modern data practices.
  • Skills & Attributes:

    • Deep understanding of data governance, data science applications, and performance measurement.
    • Demonstrated ability to lead change, drive adoption, and embed analytics in core business processes.
