Linux System Engineer/ Linux Administrator (senior) VMWare, ESXi .
Role is based in Berlin and will require relocation.
We Need:
- Several years of experience as a system administrator or system engineer
- Very good knowledge of Linux server administration, optionally also Windows
- Experience with VMware / ESXi, storage and backup.
We are looking ideally for German language. (not a must have but a good to have).
Office in the centre of Berlin.
If you have a valid blue card, if you are in Berlin or Germany and you have the skills needed and are keen to learn German this can be OK.
Indeed the technical skills are more important than they German language.
We are looking for Linux experts with VMware and ESXi and who will make this Linux team sharp, new, fresh, we seek new mindset, people who embrace change and new tech. Linux candidate who challenge the status quo and will improve the environment!!
The job, the opportunity

We are looking for an experienced system administrator or system engineer with a focus on Linux who will not only maintain our internal IT infrastructure but also actively develop and help build it.
In this role, your focus will be on the technical expansion and further development of our system landscape – our HelpDesk team will handle user support.
What we need you for
- Operation and further development of our internal IT infrastructure (focus on Linux)
- Support for a wide range of specialist applications and special solutions
- Planning and implementation of maintenance work, patch management and monitoring
- Administration of VMware hosts and storage systems
- Analysis, automation and documentation of processes and IT services
- Collaboration with other IT teams (e.g., development / DevOps, HelpDesk)
- Possible in the future: Further development towards team lead or focus on security
We Need:
- Several years of experience as a system administrator or system engineer
- Very good knowledge of Linux server administration, optionally also Windows
- Experience with VMware / ESXi, storage and backup
- Ability to familiarize yourself with new systems – even without perfect documentation
- Independent, structured working style and a sense of sustainability
- Enjoyment of automation and knowledge transfer within the team
Wanted: Senior Admin / System Engineer – with a focus on Linux
- This is about the company’s internal IT, not the DSL and fiber internet infrastructure for our customers.
- The person should primarily be hands-on, occasionally also supporting colleagues. (We are not looking for a manager, but a “doer.”)
Career options:
- Development into a Team Lead role for the Admin / Infrastructure team
- Focus / development in security-related topics
Background information:
- We have our own IT HelpDesk team for users, workstations, conference rooms, work devices, etc. (typical user HelpDesk); the advertised role will not deal with those tasks. This position is for the parallel team “Infrastructure & Operations.”
- We also have our own development department. Occasionally, DevOps tasks arise

Requirements – optional:
- Windows server administration
- Exchange: partly still on-prem, mostly in MS 365 Cloud; Entra ID
- Cloud, especially AWS
- Kubernetes or Docker (DevOps topics for the development team)
