About the Role
This UI/UX Designer position is a part-time, remote opportunity focused on crafting intuitive and visually compelling digital experiences for a leading media and streaming platform serving the EMEA region. The role is suited for a mid-level professional with a strong portfolio in digital product design, particularly within the entertainment, media, or streaming industries. The designer will play a pivotal role in shaping user journeys, optimizing interface usability, and ensuring a seamless, engaging experience for a diverse, international audience.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and iterate user interfaces for web and mobile streaming platforms, ensuring consistency with brand guidelines and optimal usability across devices.
- Conduct user research, persona development, and usability testing to inform design decisions and validate user flows for media consumption experiences.
- Develop wireframes, interactive prototypes, and high-fidelity mockups using industry-standard tools such as Figma, Sketch, or Adobe XD.
- Collaborate closely with product managers, developers, and content teams to translate business requirements and user needs into effective design solutions.
- Optimize navigation, content discovery, and playback interfaces to enhance engagement and retention for streaming audiences.
- Analyze user data and feedback to identify pain points and propose actionable design improvements.
- Ensure accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design principles are integrated into all deliverables for a broad, multicultural user base.
- Maintain and evolve design systems, UI kits, and component libraries to support scalable product development.
- Stay current with trends in media, streaming, and digital entertainment UX to introduce innovative features and best practices.
Required Experience & Skills
- Demonstrated experience (3+ years) in UI/UX design for digital products, with a strong portfolio showcasing work on media, streaming, or entertainment platforms.
- Proficiency in design and prototyping tools such as Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD, InVision, and Zeplin.
- Solid understanding of user-centered design principles, information architecture, and interaction design for both web and mobile applications.
- Experience conducting user research, usability testing, and translating findings into actionable design improvements.
- Familiarity with accessibility standards (WCAG) and responsive design best practices for diverse audiences.
- Strong visual design skills, including typography, color theory, layout, and iconography.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively in remote, cross-functional teams.
- Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a part-time, flexible work arrangement.
- Knowledge of streaming industry trends, user behaviors, and content consumption patterns in the EMEA region is highly desirable.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Visual Arts, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Certification in UX/UI design or related disciplines is advantageous.
- Proven track record of delivering high-quality design solutions for digital media or streaming products.
- Experience working in remote or distributed teams is preferred.
