Compensation: $150K - $175K (dependent upon candidate experience)

Confidential IT Director – AWS Cloud / Multi-Company Support

We are seeking a highly experienced IT Director to lead technology strategy and operations across a group of five companies within the trucking and logistics industry. This is a full-time, on-site leadership role based in either Rhode Island or Ohio, with relocation assistance provided. The position offers a unique opportunity for a seasoned IT leader to drive innovation, strengthen infrastructure, and support growth through an AWS cloud environment that serves multiple businesses across the U.S. The previous IT Director held this role for 12 years and departed on excellent terms, leaving behind a strong foundation. This role reports directly to the owner and will play a critical role in shaping the future of IT across the group.

Strategic Leadership

• Lead the IT function across all five companies, ensuring technology enables efficiency, security, and scalability.
• Drive adoption and optimization of AWS cloud infrastructure, ensuring high performance and availability across the group.
• Partner with ownership and business leaders to align IT strategies with corporate goals and long-term growth.

Operations & Service Delivery

• Oversee enterprise systems, applications, and IT infrastructure to support daily operations in logistics and trucking.
• Standardize tools, platforms, and processes across entities to maximize cost-efficiency and consistency.
• Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and service providers to deliver best-in-class solutions.

Governance & Security

• Establish and enforce IT governance frameworks, policies, and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Oversee cybersecurity, disaster recovery, and data protection for the group.

Team & Leadership

• Lead and mentor IT staff across business units, fostering accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.
• Develop long-term IT talent strategy to support ongoing company growth.

Financial & Reporting

• Manage the IT budget across all companies and provide clear reporting on IT initiatives and ROI.
• Optimize IT investments while ensuring scalability and security of systems.

Qualifications & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in IT, Computer Science, or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 10+ years of progressive IT leadership, with at least 5 years at senior management/director level.
• Strong expertise in AWS cloud platforms and multi-entity IT management.
• Background in logistics, trucking, or related industries preferred.
• Proven success in aligning IT strategy with business objectives.
• Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.

Additional Details

• Location: Rhode Island (preferred location) or Ohio (on-site, 5 days per week).
• Compensation: $135K – $155K (flexibility to go above for the right candidate).
• Relocation assistance provided.
