Role: Junior Data Engineer

Position Type: Full-Time Contract (40hrs/week)

Work Schedule: 8 hours/day (Mon-Fri)

Work Hours: 9:30 AM – 6:30 PM IST.

Location: 100% Remote

We’re looking for a motivated Junior Data Engineer to support data movement and optimization within an Azure-based infrastructure. The role involves building data pipelines, optimizing SQL queries, and improving cluster performance. Candidates must be able to work India hours (9:30 AM – 6:30 PM IST) and have strong communication and learning skills.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain Python scripts for data transfer and transformation in Azure.
• Optimize SQL queries and cluster performance using EXPLAIN plans.
• Work with Azure Data Factory, Databricks, or Synapse Analytics (preferred).
• Collaborate via Jira/Azure DevOps and participate in code reviews.
• Contribute to documentation and continuous improvement of data processes.

Requirements:

• Hands-on experience with Python and SQL (joins, inserts, query tuning).
• Understanding of Azure data services and ETL workflows.
• Excellent communication, teamwork, and accountability.
