Scala Developer
We are currently supporting a digital wealth management firm, which is undergoing a strategic transformation. The organization provides automated investment solutions and personalized financial advisory services.
The company is initiating a comprehensive overhaul of its internal systems to reduce reliance on external financial services that have historically handled different types of accounting operations.
This initiative aims to enhance control, transparency, and scalability in financial operations and related back office functions. The project involves designing and developing a proprietary platform using Scala3, Java8, Kafka, AWS, and Kubernetes. The system will support internal ledger management, reconciliation processes, and integration with external financial data sources.
The Scala Engineer will be provided to support the company’s internal transformation by contributing to the development of the new accounting and settlement systems. The consultant will collaborate closely with engineering and product teams to design and implement backend components for ledger entries, reconciliation logic, and integrations with financial infrastructure providers. We will help build scalable, cloud-native services using Scala3 and Java8, deployed on AWS and managed with Kubernetes. Their expertise will be instrumental in establishing a robust internal accounting framework, reducing reliance on external systems, and ensuring accurate and auditable financial operations.
- Scala Expertise: Strong experience developing backend systems in Scala, ideally in fintech environments (Ideally Scala3)
- Java8 Proficiency: Solid understanding of Java for maintaining and integrating legacy components. (Nice to have)
- Kafka Knowledge: Familiarity with event-driven architectures and asynchronous messaging using Kafka.
- AWS Experience: Proven ability to deploy and manage cloud-native applications on Amazon Web Services.
- Kubernetes Skills: Experience orchestrating microservices in containerized environments.
- Trading Systems: Exposure to trading platforms and broker integration workflows. (Nice to have)
- Fintech Background: Previous work in fintech or financial services, with attention to compliance and scalability. (Nice to have)
- English Fluency: Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken, for team collaboration.
