Job Description
Akkodis is seeking a Security Architect / Engineer for a Contract position, and this is a 100% Remote role. Ideally looking for applicants with a solid background in Cloud Security, Entra ID, SOC2, Audit, and Purview.
Rate Range: $70-$90 per hour. The salary may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
Security Architect / Engineer – Key Requirements Summary
- Microsoft Security Ecosystem Expert: Deep hands-on experience across Entra ID (Azure AD), Active Directory, Conditional Access, PIM/JIT, and RBAC/least-privilege design.
- Automation & Scripting Proficiency: Strong PowerShell, Graph API, and Power Automate skills for user/device workflows, reporting, and compliance automation.
- Data Protection & Compliance: Skilled in Microsoft Purview, Information Protection, eDiscovery, DLP, and legal hold/eDiscovery case management with leadership-ready reporting.
- Email & Communication Security: Proven experience in Exchange Online and Defender for Office 365—SPF/DKIM/DMARC setup, threat analysis, Safe Links/Safe Attachments tuning, and compromised mailbox response.
- Endpoint & Device Security: Mastery of Intune, Defender for Endpoint, SentinelOne/N-Central, and device-compliance/BitLocker/Windows baseline configuration.
- Threat Detection & Incident Response: Practical experience with Microsoft Sentinel, KQL, Defender for Cloud Apps, and EDR/XDR log correlation, hunting, and alert tuning.
- Audit, Reporting & Governance: Builds automated compliance dashboards via Power BI/Excel, conducts account/device audits, and aligns controls to CIS, NIST 800-53, ISO 27001 frameworks.
- Cloud & Collaboration Security: Secures SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams permissions, DLP, retention, and cross-tenant collaboration governance.
- Business & Communication Skills: Can translate technical risk into exec-level summaries, collaborate with CTO/CFO/Legal, and drive continuous improvement across multi-OpCo environments.
- Preferred Certifications: SC-100, SC-200, SC-300, SC-400, Security+ / CySA+, or CISSP.
