Go Developer (Backend) – Relocate to Abu Dhabi

You’ll be designing and building scalable, secure backend systems in a dynamic, innovation-driven environment, collaborating closely with world-class engineers, DevOps specialists, and researchers all onsite at a cutting-edge facility in Abu Dhabi.
What You’ll Do
- Design, implement, and maintain backend services and APIs using Go (Golang)
- Build scalable, high-performance systems that handle complex business logic securely
- Optimise applications for performance, reliability, and low latency
- Collaborate with frontend developers, product owners, and DevOps to deliver high-quality solutions
- Write clean, maintainable, well-documented code following best practices
- Participate in architecture discussions and technical decision-making
- Conduct code reviews and provide mentorship to peers
- Deploy and manage services on cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure
- Stay up to date with the latest trends in backend engineering, Go development, and distributed systems
What You’ll Need
- 3+ years of professional software engineering experience, with at least 2 years focused on Golang
- Solid understanding of microservices architecture and RESTful API design
- Hands-on experience with SQL and NoSQL databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis, etc.)
- Familiarity with containerization and orchestration tools (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Working knowledge of distributed systems, concurrency, and security best practices
- Cloud experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP
- Proficiency in writing unit, integration, and performance tests
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to debug complex systems
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills
Bonus Points For
- Experience with event-driven architectures and messaging systems (Kafka, RabbitMQ)
- Knowledge of CI/CD pipelines and automation tools (Jenkins, GitLab CI)
- Familiarity with observability tools like Prometheus, Grafana, or ELK stack
- Contributions to open-source Go projects or a strong portfolio of real-world work
