About The Role

The Systems Engineer role within Microsoft’s CO+I team is a vital position focused on delivering innovative automation solutions to support the scaling of data center delivery capabilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing advanced systems that streamline operations, enhance efficiency, and improve project execution across large-scale data center projects. This role involves working closely with cross-functional teams, including program managers, engineers, and external partners, to translate business requirements into technical solutions. The engineer will play a key role in end-to-end SAP IBP implementation, including requirement gathering, system configuration, customization, and go-live activities. The position requires technical leadership, problem-solving skills, and the ability to operate effectively in ambiguous situations. The role offers flexibility with hybrid or remote work options and is located in one of several hub locations, with relocation support provided.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field
  • Proven experience in SAP IBP implementation and configuration
  • Strong understanding of system integration, customization, and end-to-end project management
  • Experience with microservices architecture and ERP platforms
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively in an Agile environment
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
  • Demonstrated technical leadership and collaboration abilities
  • Experience with automation, workflow optimization, and large-scale data center projects is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Perform end-to-end SAP IBP implementation activities, including requirement gathering, fit-gap analysis, system configuration, customization, cutover, and go-live support
  • Lead technical design discussions with key business stakeholders to translate requirements into effective solutions
  • Resolve complex system integration challenges by collaborating with internal and external teams
  • Design, architect, and provide technical leadership for development teams
  • Demonstrate features and solutions to stakeholders in an Agile environment
  • Share knowledge and best practices with the CO+I Engineering team to foster continuous improvement
  • Develop automation capabilities to support long-range execution planning, workflow improvements, and project delivery
  • Build scalable, reliable systems that support Microsoft’s data center expansion and operational goals
