You can look forward to
- Installation, maintenance and support of the Hannover Re Group's Linux server infrastructure (Red Hat Enterprise Linux)
- Monitoring and optimisation of environments (e.g. Zabbix, Red Hat Satellite) and development of cookbooks for automation with version control (e.g. Chef Automate, git, Gerrit, Jenkins)
- Automated hardening of servers based on current security standards (e.g. CIS benchmarks) and security monitoring (e.g. QualysGuard)
- Close collaboration with other teams to further develop the virtual Linux infrastructure architecture (e.g. cloud teams for Azure and Amazon, architects, network and security)
- Incident, problem and change management: processing enquiries and fault reports and documenting them in the ticket system
- Several years of professional experience with the administration of complex Linux server environments in virtualised environments
- Degree in (business) informatics or comparable training with professional experience
- Knowledge in the areas of automation (e.g. Chef Automate, Ansible, Puppet) and scripting (e.g. Bash, Ruby)
- Basic knowledge of VMware virtualisation and cloud infrastructures, as well as server security and hardening
- German and English at a business fluent level
- Strong analytical skills and creativity in finding solutions, as well as organisational and coordination skills with a structured and transparent way of working
