Summary

Anaconda is seeking a talented Product Manager, Desktop Experience to join our rapidly-growing company. This is an excellent opportunity for you to leverage your experience and skills and apply it to the world of data science, artificial intelligence, and machine learning. You'll be responsible for our flagship desktop product that serves millions of Python developers and data scientists worldwide, driving the integration of our classic Anaconda Navigator with cutting-edge local AI capabilities.

What You’ll Do

• Lead the product strategy and roadmap for Anaconda Desktop, balancing the needs of traditional data science workflows with modern AI/ML development requirements
• Drive the integration of Anaconda Navigator and AI Navigator into a unified desktop experience that delights users and grows adoption
• Partner closely with engineering to make critical architecture and technical decisions while managing technical debt from legacy systems
• Champion local LLM capabilities and privacy-focused AI development tools that differentiate Anaconda in the market
• Engage directly with users - data scientists, Python developers, and scientific thinkers - to understand their workflows and pain points
• Collaborate with the broader product organization to ensure seamless integration between Desktop and our enterprise platform
• Work with open-source communities to ensure our desktop product serves both individual developers and contributes to the broader Python ecosystem
• Define and track key product metrics including user engagement, feature adoption, and satisfaction across diverse user segments
  
  

What You Need

• 5+ years of product management experience in developer tools, data science platforms, or technical software products
• Strong understanding of the Python ecosystem and data science workflows - you should be comfortable discussing conda environments, Jupyter notebooks, and ML model development
• Experience managing desktop or client applications - you understand the unique challenges of software distribution, updates, and cross-platform compatibility
• Technical background that enables you to engage meaningfully with engineering on complex architectural decisions
• Track record of working with open-source communities and understanding open-source business models
• Proven ability to balance multiple stakeholder needs while maintaining a clear product vision
• A PLG-oriented mindset, creating product flows that empower users and organizations to migrate from free to paid experiences
• Excellent communication skills - you can translate complex technical concepts for different audiences

What Will Make You Stand Out

• Direct experience managing developer tools or data science platforms
• Background in AI/ML tooling or LLM deployment - understanding of model serving, local inference, and AI development workflows
• Experience with package management systems or software distribution platforms
• Understanding of enterprise software requirements and how desktop tools integrate with enterprise platforms
• Community management or developer advocacy experience - you've built relationships with technical communities
• Data-driven product management approach with experience using analytics to drive product decisions
• Experience working in a fast-paced startup environment
