Principal Network Engineer I or II

Location: UK or Ireland (Remote)

Salary: Up to £115,000 + bonus

We are looking for an experienced Principal Network Engineer (Level I or II) to join a high-performing global engineering team building and optimising a large-scale enterprise network.

This is a hands-on, deeply technical role where you’ll design, implement and support advanced infrastructure across modern routing, switching and next-generation security technologies.

What You’ll Do:

• Design, build and maintain enterprise-class network solutions
• Lead implementation and troubleshooting across Palo Alto and Juniper platforms
• Deliver and optimise EVPN, VXLAN and BGP routing environments
• Configure and enhance Threat Prevention, Wildfire, URL Filtering and Panorama
• Collaborate with global teams to ensure performance, scalability and security
• Mentor others and contribute to continuous improvement and automation initiatives

Experience:

• Expert knowledge of Palo Alto firewalls, including advanced CLI configuration
• Strong Juniper experience – especially QFX and MX platforms (Apstra experience a plus)
• Deep understanding of EVPN, VXLAN and BGP
• Proven ability to troubleshoot and deliver reliable, production-ready solutions
• Excellent communication skills and a collaborative approach

Nice to Have:

• Experience with Prisma Access, Cortex XSOAR, or Prisma Cloud
• Familiarity with automation, scripting or orchestration tools
• Exposure to large-scale, multi-cloud or distributed network environments
