About The Role
As an Enterprise Security Engineer at OpenAI, you will play a pivotal role in safeguarding our internal information systems and infrastructure. Your primary responsibility will be to implement, manage, and enhance security measures across our enterprise environment. Working closely with our IT and Security teams, you will develop and enforce security policies, monitor systems for potential threats, and respond proactively to security incidents. This role offers flexibility for remote work, with relocation assistance available for candidates willing to move to San Francisco. You will have the opportunity to work in a highly technical, employee-focused environment that values innovation and proactive security strategies.
In this capacity, you will develop security protocols to protect our data assets, monitor and respond to security threats, and contribute to the continuous improvement of our security posture. Your expertise will help us implement best practices across cloud platforms such as AzureAD, GSuite, and Github, ensuring our infrastructure remains resilient against evolving cyber threats. You will also advise employees on endpoint security, network infrastructure, and data protection strategies. Using advanced security models like zero trust and secure by default, you will help create a sustainable and secure environment for our knowledge workers and developers. Additionally, you will leverage AI-driven tools to enhance threat detection, data classification, and incident response. Your educational efforts will empower staff to maintain security awareness and best practices, fostering a security-first culture within the organization.
Qualifications
- Experience in managing and protecting macOS fleets
- Proficiency in deploying and managing endpoint security solutions, including EDR tools and management frameworks
- Hands-on experience with public cloud service providers such as Amazon AWS and Microsoft Azure
- Knowledge of identity and access management protocols including SAML, OAUTH, and SCIM
- Understanding of email security protocols like SPF, DKIM, and DMARC
- Intermediate or advanced scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or similar
- Familiarity with modern adversary tactics, techniques, and procedures
- Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and manage multiple projects independently
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on risk mitigation
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement security measures to safeguard company information assets against unauthorized access, disclosure, or misuse
- Monitor internal and external systems for security threats and respond promptly to alerts
- Enforce and update company IT and security policies and procedures
- Collaborate with the IT department to harden infrastructure, employing best practices in cloud and SaaS environments
- Advise employees on endpoint security, network infrastructure, and security best practices
- Design and implement data sharing controls, including DLP and intelligent group management
- Adopt and promote security frameworks like zero trust and secure by default to ensure sustainable security environments
- Identify vulnerabilities within internal systems and lead remediation efforts
- Utilize AI-driven models to enhance security detection, response, and data classification systems
- Conduct security awareness training and educate staff on data security importance
- Contribute to security roadmaps for endpoints and cloud environments by staying current with emerging threats and technologies
