About The Role

We are seeking an experienced AI & Data Science Manager to lead our data science team. In this role, you will oversee the development of data-driven solutions that influence strategic decision-making across the company. You will be responsible for both hands-on technical contributions and managing a team of talented data scientists. Your leadership will be instrumental in delivering insights that enhance operational efficiency, improve customer experiences, and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in machine learning, natural language processing, and data analysis, combined with excellent leadership and communication skills. This position is fully remote, based in Texas, USA, with flexible work hours that should align with California time zones (up to 4 PM Pacific Time).

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, Data Science, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 7 years of professional experience as a Data Scientist or in a related role.
  • At least 2 years of experience leading a team of data professionals.
  • Proficiency in Python or R, with experience implementing machine learning pipelines and frameworks.
  • Advanced SQL skills, with experience working on large-scale relational and distributed datasets.
  • Experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Hands-on experience with statistical analysis, predictive modeling, and data mining on complex datasets.
  • Expertise in AI, machine learning, and natural language processing techniques, including model development, tuning, and validation.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to translate business challenges into actionable analytics projects.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of conveying complex insights into clear recommendations.
  • Experience working independently and collaboratively in remote team environments.

Responsibilities

  • Lead, mentor, and develop a team of data scientists, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
  • Manage project prioritization, resource allocation, and develop project roadmaps aligned with business goals.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between the data science team and cross-functional stakeholders, translating business needs into technical solutions.
  • Design, develop, and validate complex predictive models and data-driven solutions, including machine learning and NLP applications.
  • Analyze large and complex datasets to uncover strategic insights that inform product development and business strategies.
  • Oversee the design, execution, and analysis of A/B tests and multi-variant experiments to optimize business outcomes.
  • Collaborate with data engineering teams to ensure scalable data infrastructure and maintain high data quality standards.
  • Provide training and guidance to promote a data-centric culture across the organization.
  • Help shape and implement the company's data science strategy, ensuring alignment with organizational objectives.
