Lead SAR Algorithm Engineer / Technical Program Manager - Synthetic Aperture Radar


A pioneering technology company at the forefront of the Earth observation and space sector is seeking an experienced SAR Technical Program Manager to lead a critical team of Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) experts and ML Engineers.

The Role

As the Technical Program/Project Manager, you will be responsible for the smooth execution of complex software development projects.

  • Lead and mentor a dynamic team of 5-18 (project-dependent) SAR experts and ML engineers.
  • Oversee the full lifecycle development of advanced software for automatic object recognition in SAR data.
  • Take the lead in writing compelling technical proposals to help drive business development and win new contracts.
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and timelines to ensure successful, on-time delivery.
  • Serve as a key point of contact for customers and stakeholders, effectively communicating technical progress.


The Essential Requirements

  • Demonstrable Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR) SAR phenomenology/algorithm knowledge (rather than solely a SAR imagery analyst)
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen and be eligible to obtain a high-level security clearance (TS/SCI).
  • Proven experience leading technical teams and successfully delivering complex software projects.
  • Excellent written communication skills, with experience contributing to or writing technical proposals, bids, or reports.
  • A strong academic background in Physics, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field.
