Job Description

DevOps Engineer (Trading)

Location: Fully Remote (within US / NYC Time Zone ±3 hours)

About the Role

  • We’re looking for a DevOps Engineer to join a discreet, high-performance crypto proprietary trading firm operating across global markets.
  • You’ll play a central role in designing, building, and scaling the infrastructure that powers fully automated trading strategies across both centralised and decentralised venues.
  • Working as part of a globally distributed engineering team, you’ll ensure the reliability, scalability, and performance of mission-critical trading systems where milliseconds matter. The role is fully remote, but requires close collaboration during US (New York) business hours ideally within ±3 hours of EST.
  • This is a hands-on opportunity for an engineer who thrives in fast-moving, performance-driven environments blending deep systems expertise with a passion for automation and technical precision.

What You’ll Do

  • Design, deploy, and maintain AWS-based infrastructure for real-time, low-latency systems
  • Build and manage infrastructure-as-code using Terraform
  • Automate configuration, deployment, and monitoring using Python and Ansible
  • Enhance observability and performance through Prometheus, Grafana, and related tooling
  • Troubleshoot and optimise across compute, storage, and network layers
  • Support containerised workloads and participate in on-call rotation for production systems
  • Partner with developers and traders to align infrastructure with system-level performance goals

What We’re Looking For

  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in DevOps, SRE, or Cloud Infrastructure roles
  • Strong Linux fundamentals (system internals, performance tuning, troubleshooting)
  • Deep AWS expertise (EC2, VPC, S3, RDS, CloudWatch, IAM)
  • Excellent networking knowledge (TCP/IP, DNS, routing, latency optimisation)
  • Proficiency with Terraform and Python for automation
  • Experience with Docker and configuration management tools (Ansible preferred)
  • Proven ability to maintain high-availability, mission-critical environments

Bonus Points

  • Experience in trading, crypto, or other real-time, distributed systems
  • Familiarity with Kubernetes and GitLab CI/CD
  • Understanding of blockchain infrastructure
  • Experience with performance testing and capacity planning
  • Knowledge of Go or TypeScript
