Position summary
The IT Compliance Engineer is a hands-on technical compliance reviewer responsible for triaging, reviewing and approving or rejecting incoming workstation requests and change controls. Working in a mixed on‑premises/cloud environment, this single-resource role ensures proposed changes meet organizational standards for build process, security, technical feasibility and evidence quality before work proceeds.
Role & duties
- Accountable for the technical and compliance review of incoming IT requests and change controls related to workstations.
- Responsible for approving requests that meet required standards and rejecting requests that do not, documenting required remediation.
- Maintains auditable records of reviews, decisions and evidence.
Primary responsibilities
- Triage incoming requests and change controls in ServiceNow and the organization’s custom tooling.
- Review proposed plans for completeness and executability, including implementation steps, validation checks and rollback considerations.
- Assess technical feasibility against the existing estate, dependencies and configuration baselines.
- Verify security controls and considerations are addressed (e.g., access controls, patching, endpoint protection).
- Evaluate the quality and sufficiency of attached evidence and documentation (logs, test results, manifests, screenshots).
- Approve, reject or conditionally approve requests and record the decision and rationale in the ticketing system.
- Communicate requirements and remediation steps clearly to requestors and stakeholders.
- Maintain auditable evidence and support regulatory or audit requests.
- Identify recurring issues and provide input for updates to runbooks, checklists and submission guidance to reduce rework.

Collaboration & reporting
- Work with requestors, application owners, security teams and program stakeholders to validate plans and evidence.
- Provide clear, documented feedback to implementers when remediation or additional detail is required.
- Maintain compliance records in ServiceNow.
Required qualifications & experience
- Minimum 2 years’ experience in end-user support, desktop engineering, or similar technical support role.
- Strong working knowledge of Windows operating systems.
- Practical experience using ServiceNow for change and incident management.
- Comfortable learning and using custom/internal tooling.
- Basic understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP).
- Clear written and verbal communication skills in English.
- Able to work independently as the single technical compliance resource.
