Job Description


Optimum Healthcare IT is a #1 BEST In KLAS healthcare IT staffing and consulting services firm based in Jacksonville Beach, FL. We are looking for a motivated Payroll Specialist experienced in processing multi-state and multi-jurisdiction payroll, within a high-volume staffing environment. 3+ years of payroll processing experience is required for this role and staffing industry experience is a major plus! This is a fully remote role and does not require relocation.


Payroll Duties:


  • Update complex Excel documents containing payroll data including summaries of earnings, taxes, deductions, and nontaxable wages for purposes of audit
  • Perform collection of timecards and record hours worked in the payroll system
  • Track expense reports and ensure accurate matching with claimable receipts
  • Manage time adjustments in case of time errors
  • Make necessary entries or uploads to payroll data, which includes adjustments
  • Prepare off-cycle payrolls and manual checks as needed
  • Enter new hire information into the HRIS
  • Responsible for the preparation and processing of biweekly payroll; review and ensure accuracy of approved electronic timesheets; track and deduct all payroll deductions
  • Execute expense report adjustments in payroll system
  • Meet quality and timeliness metrics in a high-volume environment
  • Adhere to established operating procedures & accounting controls
  • Process financial compensations or deductions including bonuses, garnishments, PTO & taxes
  • Answer employee questions about salaries, payments and taxes
  • Processing multi-state payroll for 300+ employees



Education/Experience Requirements:


  • Intermediate MS Excel skills (required)
  • Minimum 3+ years' experience in a high-volume payroll environment (required)
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or Business (preferred)
  • Staffing industry experience (highly preferred)
  • Previous payroll software experience in ADP (preferred)
  • Multi-state experience and multi-jurisdiction payroll processing experience (required)
  • Extensive knowledge of payroll processes and legal compliance (required)
