Description:
Clever Markets is seeking an experienced Business Development Manager to spearhead our market expansion in the EU.
You’re here to open doors. Your job is to generate qualified leads and strategic referral partnerships that bring institutional energy trading firms into our pipeline.
You’ll own the top of the sales funnel and drive the outreach engine that fuels our growth.

You will be immediately disqualified should you not have experience in the energy or finance industry.
Who this is for
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in business development and/ or sales in the European energy industry, trading, or financial services. Knowledge of technical analysis is a big plus.
The candidate should have a proven track record of consistent lead generation and partnership network building.
You’re confident with reaching out cold and can handle rejection with a smile. We are looking for a strategic thinker who can help tweak and develop the top-of-funnel process.
Responsibilities
Lead Generation
- Identify decision-makers across power, gas, LNG, and carbon desks in Europe
- Build and manage target lead lists in the CRM
- Conduct direct outreach via LinkedIn, email, phone and other platforms
- Book qualified intro meetings for the founder
- Continuously test outreach approaches and refine scripts for higher conversion
Qualification
- Run screening calls with booked leads
- Confirm key criteria to ensure high-quality pipeline flow
-Brief founder ahead of strategy calls with relevant context and CRM notes
Referral & Partnership Network Building
- Proactively identify potential industry partnersÂ
- Initiate conversations and explore mutual benefits
- Maintain warm relationships and track partner pipeline performance
- Collaborate on co-marketing or intro schemes that generate long-term deal flow
KPI
The only KPI that matters: Qualified leads generated per month.
You will be measured by the number of meaningful intro meetings booked with relevant decision-makers. Secondary KPIs are the inputs that lead to intro meetings.
