Job Description
We are looking for a PKI System Administrator who is willing to relocate to join our Client’s team in Brussels, Belgium.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage the NATO-wide NPKI Registration Authorities.
- Administer PKI virtualized and hardware infrastructure.
- Oversee lifecycle management of end users and device certificates across all NPKI Certificate Authorities (CAs).
- Manage NPKI Windows Servers, RHEL, VMware environment, and perform system error log verification.
- Operate and maintain NPKI Hardware Security Modules (HSMs).
- Oversee Card Management System operations.
- Evaluate and integrate Entrust sub-components connected to NPKI CA, particularly for new services.
- Develop NPKI-related guidance and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- Deliver 2nd and 3rd level technical support of CIS services to the NPKI user base.
- Manage ITSM ticketing system for NPKI operations.
- Handle certificate creation and Smart Card enrollment activities.
- Provide support for all NATO exercises and missions.
- Supervise daily operations, including management, backup, and restoration of PKI systems.
- Install and maintain NPKI components.
- Conduct Certificate Authority log analysis, troubleshoot system alarms/errors, and monitor interfaces and user activity.
- Maintain NPKI system documentation, hardware and software inventory, as well as keep systems patched and updated.
- Be flexible to work outside normal office hours in response to crises or operational requirements.
- Perform other duties as required.
Required Qualifications
- A university degree in a relevant discipline and a minimum of 3 years of relevant experience.
- Extensive knowledge of modern communication and Internet Protocol (IP) networking technologies and systems, including security aspects.
- At least 3 years’ experience with PKI system development, design, and management.
- Deep understanding of information security and cryptography, including symmetric/asymmetric encryption, PKI encryption, digital signatures, and certificates.
- Practical experience in administering Windows Servers, RHEL, and VMware systems.
- Solid understanding of computer and communications security principles, modern operating system vulnerabilities, and network security.
- Hands-on experience with SQL database administration.
- Experience with operating systems backup and restore processes.
- Practical experience with scripting (Python, PowerShell).
- Proficiency in SSL, TLS, and OpenSSL.
- Advanced knowledge and experience with Microsoft Excel.
Desirable Qualifications
- Certifications in VMware (VCA/VCP), Linux RHEL system administration, and CISCO CCNA;
- Microsoft certifications such as MCSA or MCSE;
- Experience in developing and implementing computer security policies.
