Smartist is the all-in-one iOS app that empowers visual artists to stage their art virtually and manage their careers. We’re a trendsetting, fast-growing company looking for a Creative Director to lead our marketing creative team, elevate our brand, and drive high-impact advertising campaigns.


As our Creative Director, you’ll set the creative vision, oversee art direction, and manage a team of editors and motion designers to craft visually compelling, performance-driven marketing assets that attract and convert users.


🚀 What You’ll Do:

Lead the creative strategy for marketing, ensuring a strong and cohesive brand identity across all channels.

• Oversee art direction, developing engaging visual solutions for paid ads, organic content, and branded assets.

• Conceptualize and produce short-format video ads and static creatives for platforms like Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

Write compelling ad scripts and design storyboards to bring creative ideas to life.

• Oversee the design of marketing assets for social media, email campaigns, and landing pages.

• Collaborate with the paid media and marketing team to align creative direction with user acquisition goals.

• Manage and mentor a team of editors, motion designers, and creative producers, ensuring a high-quality creative pipeline.

• Implement visual design systems across platforms in an iterative software development environment.

• Use design tools like Figma, Photoshop, Illustrator, and Sketch to develop and refine assets.

• Conduct A/B testing and leverage performance data to refine and optimize ad creatives.

• Stay ahead of industry trends in digital advertising, storytelling, and visual design to push creative boundaries.


🏅 What You Bring:

5+ years of experience in a creative leadership role (Art Direction, Visual Design, or Creative Direction) with a proven track record of delivering high-quality visual solutions across various mediums (digital, print, video).

• Strong portfolio showcasing expertise in art direction, branding, and ad creative production (please include a portfolio, website, or relevant link in your application).

• Experience implementing visual design systems across platforms in an iterative software development environment.

• Proven ability to design and execute engaging ad creatives for TikTok, Facebook, Instagram, and other digital platforms.

• Deep understanding of typography, composition, color theory, and motion design.

• Hands-on experience managing creative teams, providing guidance, and fostering collaboration.

• Strong storytelling skills, with the ability to craft scripted narratives and visual concepts for ads.

• Excellent project management and multitasking abilities, handling multiple campaigns simultaneously.

• A passion for art, creativity, and performance-driven marketing in a fast-moving startup environment.
