Business Analyst - contract position though October 2025
Fully Remote - must be available for meetings when required

The Functional Business Analyst will play a critical role in the development, implementation, and optimization of new payroll system (UKG Pro Pay). This position requires a deep understanding of payroll processes, strong analytical skills, and the ability to translate business requirements into technical specifications. The ideal candidate will have a proven track record of successfully managing complex projects and collaborating with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Requirements Gathering: Work closely with stakeholders to gather and document business requirements for payroll system enhancements and new features.
- Process Analysis: Analyze current payroll processes and identify areas for improvement to increase efficiency and accuracy.
- Solution Design: Develop functional specifications and design solutions that meet business needs and align with industry best practices.
- Technical Analysis/documentation: Ability to analyze and capture technical specifications
- Project Management: Lead and manage payroll system projects from inception to completion, ensuring timely delivery and adherence to budget.
- Testing and Validation: Coordinate and conduct testing of payroll system changes to ensure they meet business requirements and function as intended.
- User Training: Develop training materials and conduct training sessions for end-users to ensure they are proficient in using the payroll tool.
- Support: Provide ongoing support and troubleshooting for payroll system issues, working closely with IT and other departments to resolve problems.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of system changes, processes, and procedures
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
- Fluency in Microsoft Office suite (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)
- Strong written, verbal and collaboration skills
- Experience with UKG Pro Pay payroll system implementation lifecycle phases (planning, deployment, post-go-live support).
- Experience with Workday a plus
- Certifications such as CBAP (Certified Business Analysis Professional) or PMP (Project Management Professional) highly preferred
