Gnarly is an exciting game startup focused on creating casual action games for mobile platforms.
We’re the team behind Agent Hunt and Frontline Heroes, which have reached over 100 million players worldwide.
Now, we’re looking to expand our team with a passionate Junior Game Designer to help shape, balance, and innovate hybrid casual games.
You’ll work alongside an incredibly talented team and have the chance to learn every aspect of game development while contributing your own creative ideas.
- Designing engaging and innovative game mechanics
- Balancing game difficulty and progression to optimize player experience
- Crafting levels and ensuring they align with the game’s vision and mechanics
- Creating well-structured game design documents and keeping them up-to-date
- Tracking and analyzing the game market
- Finding and pitching new ideas to the team
- Fine-tuning game balance and the overall game experience
- Planning and executing A/B tests
- Analyzing marketing and engagement metrics
- Some experience in mobile game development (internship, projects, or 6+ months of professional experience)
- Active player of diverse game genres with an understanding of gameplay and mechanics
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
- Basic understanding of game mechanics, user experience, and game flow
- Strong interest in game analytics and a willingness to learn about player data
- Ability to communicate ideas clearly and create basic mockups or sketches
- Creative and innovative mindset
- Proactive and eager to take on new challenges
- Familiarity with Git or Unity
- Basic skills in Excel or other game design tools
- Experience sharing ideas or content related to game design (e.g., blog, social media, portfolio)
- Enthusiasm for casual or hybrid casual games
- Coursework or self-study in game design, analytics, or a related field
- Any experience developing or contributing to a personal game project
