The role: AI Backend Engineer
We’re looking for a top-performing and highly ambitious engineer (m/f/d) with at least 1 year (better 2) of experience to help shape the future of fintech. Your responsibilities will include:
- Build and maintain MCP servers and connectors
- Develop agentic workflows and AI-powered automation pipelines
- Build backend services in Python and design robust APIs
- Work with diverse database technologies — Elasticsearch, Qdrant, PostgreSQL
- Build and maintain integrations with third-party platforms and internal services
- Design and ship end-to-end features used by thousands of financial professionals
- Contribute to critical software design and architecture decisions around scalability, reliability, and AI infrastructure
- Improve the performance, accessibility, and user experience of our products
- Collaborate directly with clients and internal teams to understand needs and turn them into features
- Maintain a clear overview of our systems, addressing technical debt while ensuring long-term scalability

- At least 1 year (better 2) of professional software engineering experience, with proven experience designing & developing scalable and reliable software. Own serious scalable projects count as professional experience too.
- Proficiency in Python
- AI-native mindset — you stay on top of the fast-moving AI/LLM landscape and can assess and leverage relevant developments
- Experience building MCP servers or LLM tool integrations
- Familiarity with agentic orchestration frameworks (LangChain, LangGraph, CrewAI, or similar)
- Strong API design skills (REST, and ideally familiarity with protocol-level tooling)
- Hands-on experience with databases such as Elasticsearch, PostgreSQL, and vector databases
- Strong communication skills and clear, structured thinking
- Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Physics or equivalent practical experience
Nice-to-haves
- Fintech exposure
- Comfortable with TypeScript and a solid understanding of frontend concepts (React/Next.js)
- DevOps experience — Kubernetes, Docker, CI/CD pipelines, cloud infrastructure
- Founding-experience - entrepreneurial drive, resourcefulness, and comfort with ambiguity
- Experience with big data technologies (e.g. Apache Spark) & data orchestration tools (e.g. Dagster)
