Medix is currently seeking a Sr. Director of Data Science and Analytics for a remote, contract to hire opportunity with one of our best Healthcare Data Clients. Our client is a non-profit healthcare services organization that partners with Health Insurance organizations to offer a single source of truth for Provider and Membership data. Their main Technology Product is a Cloud-based Provider & Member Data Portal.
This is a new role to build a high-performing Data Science team. This Senior Director will be defining and leading the execution of an enterprise Data Science Strategy, to develop predictive models and ML solutions to drive actionable intelligence, business innovation and measurable outcomes in how organizations utilize Healthcare Provider & Membership data.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Serving in a Senior Leadership role, interfacing with VP, SVP and the office of the CTO on a routine basis.
- Building a new high-performing team of Data Scientists
- Providing direct supervision of the Data Science and Analytics team
- Defining and executing on an enterprise data science roadmap that includes Predicting Modeling/Analytics and Machine Learning to drive actionable insights and business innovation throughout Healthcare Provider and Member data initiatives.
- Driving the development of reusable and scalable data products and frameworks
- Spearheading MLOps and production-grade model deployment/ monitoring.
- Guiding the implementation of a cloud-native analytics platform
- Directing the development of scalable ML models (and MLOps), including the algorithms and decision-support tools to improve operations and customer engagement.
- Establishing governance and best practices for model development, validation, monitoring, and continuous improvement.
- Leading/ overseeing the development of models, analytics dashboards, KPIs, and visualizations
- Collaborate with product, operations, and growth teams to embed analytics into workflows and client-facing solutions.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE
- Required Bachelor Degree in related Computer Science / Math or Statistics Field.
- Masters Degree preferred
- Minimum 5+ years experience in a Director / Senior Director level leadership role.
- 10+ years professional experience in Data Science, Predictive Analytics or Applied Statistics
- A deep subject matter expertise of Healthcare Provider / Member data
- Proficient in Python, R, SQL, Spark, and Libraries / Platforms - TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost, etc
- Proficient in cloud-native Analytics (Microsoft Azure ecosystem preferred)
