Automation Engineer | $100,000 – $140,000 | Full Time, Direct Hire – South of Colorado Springs Area

Job Description

A leading manufacturer in the Southern Colorado area is seeking an experienced Automation Engineer to join its growing maintenance and process automation team. This position focuses on designing, developing, and implementing industrial control systems that improve production efficiency, quality, and performance within a highly automated environment. The ideal candidate will be hands-on, analytical, and eager to see projects through from concept to completion.


Responsibilities

• Design and implement control systems that enhance production speed, product quality, and operational reliability

• Analyze, modify, and improve PLC and HMI applications for process automation

• Evaluate process performance and develop data-driven solutions for downtime reduction and energy efficiency

• Provide troubleshooting and maintenance support for existing automation systems

• Manage automation-related projects and documentation throughout their lifecycle


Qualifications and Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical, or Automation Engineering (or related technical discipline)

• 5+ years of experience in an industrial or manufacturing automation environment

• Hands-on experience with Allen-Bradley PLCs and VFD systems

• Strong computer and data analysis skills (Excel, Project, PowerPoint)

• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and project ownership abilities
