Job Description
Hello! 🦜
Thanks for checking out our job posting. You’ve already taken a tiny step towards being a part of our team – huzzah!
We know that taking your next career step is as exciting as it can be exhausting. So, with that in mind, we’ve tried to keep our description simple and cliché-free to help you decide if PerchPeek and this role are a good match for you.
Note: this role is open exclusively to candidates based in the following time zones: GMT; GMT+1; GMT+2. Due to the needs of this role and our collaboration requirements, applications from other locations will not be considered. We appreciate your understanding and interest!
About PerchPeek
At PerchPeek we dream of a borderless world where people have the freedom to live and work where they please. Where ideas and resources flow where they’re most needed unrestricted by national borders. We strive to create a world of opportunity for anyone, anywhere – one move at a time.
Have you ever relocated? If so, you probably know how overwhelming it can be—immigration hoops, tax implications, housing, shipping, utilities, banking…the list goes on. No matter where in the world you go, relocating is complicated, time-intensive, and stressful. PerchPeek was conceived to change that.
We’re building a streamlined Mobility ecosystem to empower businesses and individuals to move anywhere in the world. We support employers and employees through every stage of the relocation process, providing an affordable, scalable, high-value service, powered by technology and relocation expertise.
About The Role
As a Senior Product Designer at PerchPeek, you’ll take ownership of new features and help grow our entire product ecosystem (web app and mobile). You’ll lead research and discovery, translate insights into elegant interactions and visuals, and own the quality and consistency of our Design System. You’ll work closely with developers, product managers, relocation coaches, sales & marketing, and, most importantly, our users to make sure PerchPeek is usable (UX), clear and delightful (UI).
We’re growing fast, so you’ll need to balance the pragmatic needs of the business and our customers with a designer’s drive for craft and polish. This is a high-impact role for someone who enjoys both strategy and hands-on design work, and who can establish themselves as the go-to design expert across the company.
Role Responsibilities
Responsibilities
Whilst every role in a startup has a degree of flexibility over time, here is what we see as the role’s main responsibilities:
- Own end-to-end design for new features across web and mobile, from discovery through to production-ready deliverables.
- Run research and discovery: user interviews, usability testing, synthesis, and actionable insights.
- Iterate quickly with prototypes and data-driven design decisions.
- Maintain, evolve and document our Design System so it’s scalable, consistent, and easy for engineers to consume.
- Hand off final designs and specs to engineering with clear assets, annotations and acceptance criteria.
- Present and defend design work to stakeholders; incorporate feedback while advocating for users and product quality.
- Collaborate day-to-day with engineers, PMs, relocation coaches, sales & marketing to align on scope, success metrics, and timelines.
- Ensure accessibility, performance and cross-platform consistency in every experience you ship.
