Project Overview:

We are transitioning our company's data platform from a legacy JD Edwards (JDE) and Qlik Sense environment and build a new database to hold our data, with SAP as our future target ERP system in the next 18 months. This multi year project is a strategic initiative to move away from our current outsourced BI solution and establish a powerful in house data capability.

The Role:

As a Data Platform Developer, you will be the primary driver in designing, building, and automating our new data platform. Reporting directly to the Head of IT, you will take ownership of this greenfield project and shape the future of our data landscape. This is a hands on role that requires a blend of technical expertise, strategic thinking, and independent project management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Year 1: Platform & Reporting Migration

• Collaborate closely with our current outsourced BI developer to understand the existing data landscape and reporting logic within Qlik Sense.

• Lead the migration of all data and reporting functionalities from Qlik Sense to a new, modern database and Power BI environment.

• Design, develop, and maintain robust data pipelines and ETL processes to ensure data integrity and availability.

• Build and deploy insightful reports and interactive dashboards in Power BI to meet the evolving needs of various business units.

• Year 2: Data Warehouse & ERP Migration

• Take the lead in designing and building the new, scalable database.

• Plan and execute the complex data migration from our legacy Oracle JD Edwards database to the new SAP ERP system.

• Ensure all data is accurately mapped, transformed, and loaded, providing a seamless transition for the business.

Candidate Profile:

• Experience: You are an experienced Data Developer with a strong background in ERP environments and a proven track record of leading successful data projects.

Technical Skills:

• Essential: Strong, hands-on experience with Power BI for developing complex reports and dashboards.

• Essential: Proven expertise in data migration projects, particularly with older, legacy ERP systems.

• Essential: Strong automation skills for building and maintaining efficient data pipelines (ETL/ELT).

• Highly Desirable: Experience with data migration projects involving Oracle (especially JDE) and SAP.
