Mission Support and Test Services, LLC (MSTS) is seeking a full-time Experimental Operations Division Manager to work as part of a multidisciplinary team to provide diagnostic fielding and development support in a national laboratory environment. The Stockpile Experimentation & Operations (SEO) organization is looking for a highly motivated Manager I to collaborate in design, development, characterization, and fielding of diagnostics systems on high stake weapons physics experiments conducted at the Principal Underground Laboratory for Subcritical Experimentation (PULSE) Complex and other facilities located at the Nevada National Security Site (NNSS). This Experimental Operations Division Manager will report primarily to the Experimental Operations Functional Manager within the SEO – Technology & Operations (T&O) directorate. The SEO -T&O directorate is looking for a strong leader with managerial and diagnostic fielding experience to manage a team of technicians, scientists, and engineers who design, develop, characterize, and field diagnostic systems in support of the Stockpile Stewardship program. The selected candidate will report primarily to the NNSS as the Operations Manager within the SEO -T&O directorate to manage the JASPER and BEEF fielding teams in Area 27 and Area 04 respectively.
Key Responsibilities
- Manages a multi-disciplined technical team of supervisor(s), engineers, scientists, and technicians responsible for designing, installing, fielding, and maintaining the JASPER and BEEF testbeds in support of shock physics and high explosive experiments.
- Work with project and functional management teams, along with National Weapons Laboratory customers, to identify technical skillset needs and leadership needs withing the SEO – T&O workforce.
- Collaborate with project managers and control account managers across the NNSS and partner laboratories to appropriately staff diagnostics operations and fielding teams.
- Maintains staffing requirements by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees; maintaining a safe, secure, and legal work environment; developing growth opportunities.
- Accomplishes staff results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results; coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees; developing, coordinating, and enforcing systems, policies, procedures, and productivity standards.
- Accomplish financial objectives by forecasting requirements; preparing annual budget; scheduling expenditures; analyzing variances; initiating corrective actions.
- Responsible for planning and maintaining work systems, procedures, and policies that enable and encourage the optimum performance of its people and other resources.

- Bachelor's degree or equivalent training and experience, plus a minimum of 11 years of related and progressively responsible experience.
