Job Summary:
We are now looking to appoint a Head of Commercial Intelligence – Sports to lead this transformation across our Sports division.
This is a senior, business-facing leadership role with direct accountability for commercial performance, merchant adoption, and measurable P&L impact. It is not a pure technology or data science role — success is defined by outcomes on the ground.
To design, deploy, and embed AI-powered commercial intelligence across the Sports business, enabling better decisions in demand forecasting, allocation, pricing, markdowns, and inventory optimisation.
You will partner closely with senior commercial leaders and merchants to translate data and AI into clear, explainable, and actionable decisions that improve sell-through, margin, and inventory health.
Accountabilities
Core Responsibilities:
- Own and lead the commercial intelligence and AI strategy for the Sports division
- Deploy AI solutions across forecasting, allocation, pricing, and markdown optimisation
- Build and scale decision-support tools (including merchant-facing AI copilots) that are trusted and adopted by the business
- Translate complex data and AI outputs into clear executive insights and trade-off decisions
- Act as a thought partner to senior leadership on commercial performance and scenario planning
- Manage and govern external AI and analytics vendors while retaining intellectual property and internal capability

Ideal Candidate Profile
- 8–15+ years of experience in sports, fashion, retail, or FMCG environments
- Proven experience deploying AI or advanced analytics in live commercial settings
- Deep understanding of merchandising, inventory management, pricing, and trade cycles
- Strong commercial mindset with clear P&L accountability
- Able to operate at executive level and influence senior stakeholders
- Pragmatic, hands-on, and comfortable working in complex, fast-moving retail environments
