Senior AI-Native Django Engineer | Healthcare Startup | $240,000 - $280,000

Location: San Francisco, CA (Hybrid with relocation support + visa sponsorship available)

A well-funded US healthcare startup is building its founding engineering team. They've closed their pre-seed round and are scaling quickly. This is a ground-floor opportunity to shape the platform's technical direction.

The role in short:

You'll own the full stack end-to-end, a Django monolith with Celery-based horizontal scaling and a React frontend. This is a production ownership role, not a management position. You'll be the person responsible when things break and the person who decides how they're built.

What makes this different is the engineering culture. AI agents aren't a nice-to-have here; they're the primary coding methodology. You'll delegate refactoring, test generation, and debugging to AI tools, orchestrate multiple agents in parallel, and design prompting strategies that produce reliable, production-quality output. If you're still writing everything line-by-line, this isn't the role.

What you'll need:

• 7-8+ years of engineering experience
• Strong hands-on Django experience, ideally with large/complex monoliths
• Celery or similar task queue experience with horizontal scaling patterns
• Solid React competency
• Proven production ownership, you've been on call, handled outages, and made infra decisions
• A genuine AI-native workflow, not just Copilot autocomplete, but actively structuring work around AI agents

Nice-to-haves:

• Healthcare or regulated environment experience (HIPAA, PHI)
• LangGraph or LLM orchestration frameworks

• $240,000 - $280,000 base salary
