OVERVIEW
The Freelance Junior Digital Designer supports the development of digital creative output across websites, social media content, brand assets, and campaign executions. This role is suited for a designer who is building strong digital fundamentals and looking to grow in UI/UX, visual communication, and motion design within a structured agency environment.
You will work fully remotely and collaborate closely with Art Directors, Senior Designers, Creative Directors, Strategists, Developers, and Account teams to execute on-brand, well-crafted, and performance-aligned creative work while developing technical skill, creative judgment, and professional confidence.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Digital Design Execution + Support
- Support the execution of digital design across websites, landing pages, social media assets, and campaign materials under the guidance of Art Directors and Senior Designers.
- Assist in translating creative direction and visual references set by Art Directors into clean, accurate design executions.
- Create UI/UX layouts in Figma by following established design systems, wireframes, and brand guidelines.
- Produce social media visuals, ad creatives, and digital assets with clear hierarchy and visual consistency.
- Support basic motion graphics or animations (e.g. simple After Effects or Lottie files) with direction from Art Directors or Motion Leads.
- Apply AI tools where appropriate to assist with ideation, visual exploration, or production efficiency.
2. Conceptual Thinking + Problem Solving

- Interpret briefs and creative directions with support from Art Directors, asking clarifying questions to ensure alignment before execution.
- Contribute ideas during brainstorms, reviews, and internal discussions when appropriate.
- Identify execution-level design issues early and flag them to Art Directors or Senior Designers.
- Apply digital-first thinking when refining layouts, typography, and visual systems.
3. Collaboration + Workflow
- Work closely with Art Directors and Senior Designers to iterate, refine, and elevate design work across projects.
- Prepare design files for internal reviews, client presentations, and developer handover following agency standards.
- Adhere to timelines, task scopes, and priorities set by the project lead or Art Director.
- Respond to feedback constructively and implement revisions with accuracy and attention to detail.
SKILLS + COMPETENCIES
4. Technical Skills
- Working proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator; After Effects is a plus).
- Basic to intermediate proficiency in Figma for UI/UX layouts and simple prototyping.
- Foundational understanding of motion design principles; experience with Lottie is an advantage.
- Familiarity with AI-assisted creative tools (e.g. Firefly, Midjourney, RunwayML) is a plus.
- Understanding of responsive design principles and digital best practices.
