Frontier Models and Real-Time Decision Systems
Research Scientists focused on post-training
*Relocation & sponsorship provided | this role is advertised in multiple states. Operations in Florida*
The Opportunity
Sentiro Partners has been engaged by a world class organization where they're building something rare: a machine learning research group where your work ships to production on day one.
This isn't academic ML. This isn't research for research's sake. This is frontier-scale models deployed into live, high-stakes systems where latency matters, adversaries exist, and feedback is measured in dollars, not citations.
You'll work at the intersection of foundational research, large-scale training infrastructure, and real-time optimization; with a direct line from idea to impact. Model architecture, training dynamics, inference efficiency, and systems design all matter equally. Tradeoffs are real. Constraints are hard. The work is exhilarating. Post training and model "mitigation" skills are valued highly.
What You'll Do
- Design and train large-scale neural models for sequential decision making, forecasting, and representation learning under noisy, adversarial, and non-stationary conditions
- Advance training methodologies: large-batch optimization, curriculum strategies, online/continual learning, reward-driven fine-tuning
- Build end-to-end pipelines from data ingestion through deployment and live feedback loops
- Collaborate with systems engineers to maximize throughput, minimize latency, and maintain stability at scale
- Ship production-grade models that operate in real-time with strict performance guarantees
Research Areas
You may specialize deeply in one area or span several:
- Large-scale pretraining and representation learning
- Reinforcement learning and reward modeling
- Sequence modeling and temporal architectures
- Optimization, generalization, and training stability at scale
- Efficient inference, model compression, and deployment
- Data-centric ML for high-signal, low-latency systems

What We're Looking For
Core Requirements:
- Deep hands-on experience training large neural models (PyTorch or equivalent)
- 4-8 years PG exp.
- PhD in ML, DS, computer science
- Strong intuition for optimization dynamics, failure modes, and debugging at scale
- Comfort working close to the metal: GPU utilization, memory tradeoffs, distributed training
- A bias toward building and owning systems, not just proposing ideas
- Background from leading ML environments: evidence of internships or similar in FAANG research teams, frontier AI labs, or equivalent.
What Matters Most
Publication history is respected but not required however true evidence of researching complex problems is.
Impact, rigor, and execution outweigh everything else.
Why This Role Is Different
- Real-world feedback loops |Your models are evaluated continuously against live outcomes, not static benchmarks. You'll know within hours, sometimes minutes, whether your ideas work.
- End-to-end ownership | Research, training, deployment, and iteration exist in one unified loop. No hand-offs. No organizational friction.
- Compute and autonomy | The scale and freedom to pursue ambitious ideas without academic overhead or bureaucracy.
- Elite peers | A small, senior team operating at the frontier of applied ML. Everyone here has built something that mattered.

What Success Looks Like
- Models that are measurably better, faster, and more robust in production
- Training pipelines that scale cleanly and fail gracefully
- Research ideas that survive contact with reality and win
Location
East Coast USA. This role is being advertised across the US. Ready to build ML systems that operate at the frontier? Let's talk.
