Senior Frontend Engineer (React Native)

Our client, located in San Francisco's SoMa district, is a very well-funded Series-B startup with around 25 employees and rapidly growing. They are an AI-first social media management platform helping brands turn followers into loyal, paying customers. They are rapidly accelerating growth and product innovation and expanding into advanced image and video generation capabilities.

They are seeking a Frontend Engineer with React Native expertise for iOS and Android, strong TypeScript (or JavaScript) skills, and additional web development experience using React Native Web or React, as outlined below:

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Build a Modern Cross-Platform Creator App (React Native): Design and deliver polished, high-performance experiences using React Native and TypeScript for both mobile and web.
• Optimize Speed & Experience: Own performance — from gesture responsiveness to launch times. Eliminate lag and track metrics like p95/p99 UI latency to ensure a fluid user experience.
• Create Rich Interactions & Motion: Craft elegant animations, tactile feedback, and motion behaviors that feel intentional and consistent with the brand. Fine-tune transitions, durations, and easing.
• Develop a Unified Design System: Work closely with design to establish scalable tokens (colors, spacing, typography, motion) and a shared component library across platforms. Keep accessibility and localization in focus from the start.
• Enhance Social Workflows: Design seamless UX flows that fit naturally into creators’ daily activities.
• Collaborate and Iterate Rapidly: Prototype quickly in Figma and code, test with real users, and refine based on metrics like crash-free rates and task completion. Drive UX excellence while maintaining fast delivery.
• Deliver at Scale: Implement feature flags, manage OTA updates, and build robust monitoring systems.
• Lead and Strategize: Help shape the roadmap, streamline design/development collaboration, define frontend standards and testing frameworks, and mentor other engineers as the team expands.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• 5+ Years of Real-World App Development (3+ in React Native): You’ve built, launched, and maintained production-grade React Native apps across iOS and Android (and ideally web), taking ownership of key features end-to-end.
• React Native + TypeScript Mastery: Strong understanding of navigation, state management, RN Web, async patterns, performance profiling, and release processes.
• Strong Visual & UX Sensibility: You turn design prototypes into pixel-perfect, accessible interfaces—paying attention to typography, layout, animation, and micro-interactions, and knowing when simplicity beats flash.
• System & Product Thinking: Skilled at structuring scalable frontends (modular code, feature toggles, dependency boundaries) while keeping user flows intuitive and fast.
• Independent & Impact-Oriented: Comfortable working through ambiguity, balancing design precision with pragmatic delivery, and linking frontend work to measurable business and user outcomes.
• B.S. or higher in computer science or technical/engineering field
