Senior Director of Product Strategy(Coherent DSP),29149

Location: Permanent Remote (North America)

Experience: 8–20 years

About The Role

We are seeking a senior product marketing leader to drive global marketing strategy and execution for next-generation optical communication technologies. This role owns the complete marketing function—from strategic positioning and product definition to demand generation and go-to-market execution.

The ideal candidate brings deep technical expertise in coherent optical systems and DSP, combined with strong leadership and the ability to translate complex engineering concepts into compelling market narratives. You will work closely with executive leadership and engineering teams to shape product direction and accelerate growth in the optical communications and semiconductor markets.

This role reports directly to the CEO.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Leadership

  • Define and execute a global marketing strategy aligned with corporate objectives and product roadmap
  • Lead cross-functional initiatives to position the organization as a market leader in coherent DSP and optical semiconductors
  • Partner closely with executive leadership, sales, operations, and engineering to ensure alignment on messaging, roadmap, and market requirements

Product & Technical Marketing

  • Own product marketing for Coherent DSP ASICs, including positioning, differentiation, and competitive analysis
  • Develop and own MRDs and PRDs in collaboration with engineering and product teams
  • Create high-quality technical collateral such as white papers, datasheets, product briefs, and executive-level presentations
  • Represent the organization with industry analysts, customers, and at key industry events

Go-to-Market & Demand Generation

  • Design and execute go-to-market strategies, including product launches and integrated marketing campaigns
  • Oversee global demand generation initiatives, including digital marketing, PR, events, SEO/SEM, and partner marketing
  • Work closely with sales leadership to support account-based marketing, customer acquisition, and pipeline growth

Team & Budget Management

  • Build, mentor, and lead a high-performing global marketing team
  • Manage marketing budgets and allocate resources to maximize ROI and business impact

Must-Have Skills & Experience

  • Proven track record of successfully bringing complex semiconductor or telecom solutions to market, preferably in a startup or high-growth environment
  • Deep technical understanding of:
    • Coherent optical systems
    • DSP algorithms and architectures
    • Modulation formats
    • Telecom and datacom market dynamics
  • Hands-on experience owning and authoring MRDs and PRDs
  • Extensive progressive product marketing leadership experience within optical communications, semiconductors, or networking domains
  • Minimum 5+ years of direct experience with coherent optics, DSP, optical transceivers, or photonic integrated circuits (PICs)
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling value propositions
Nice-to-Have Skills & Experience

  • Experience working with hyperscalers, network OEMs, or system integrators
  • Strong people leadership and team-building capabilities
  • Experience managing marketing budgets and resource allocation at scale
  • Background working across both startup and large enterprise environments
  • Prior experience supporting or leading marketing through funding rounds, M&A, or IPO stages
  • Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in Electrical Engineering, Applied Physics, or a related field
