The Role
We're looking for an experienced Quality Control Manager to build and lead our QC function from the ground up. This is a full-time, fully remote leadership role where you'll define what quality means at DesignGuru, then build the team and processes to deliver it consistently across all client work, including:
- Branding and visual identity systems
- Social media content and digital campaigns
- Pitch decks and presentation designs
- Infographics and marketing materials
- All creative deliverables across the agency
You'll lead a team of QC specialists, establish review standards and workflows, collaborate with design leadership to improve output quality, and create a culture of excellence that becomes part of our competitive advantage.
What You'll Do
- Build, lead, and mentor a high-performing quality control team
- Design and implement scalable QC processes, workflows, and quality standards
- Establish clear criteria and frameworks for evaluating design work across all project types
- Conduct quality audits and provide strategic feedback to design teams and leadership
- Collaborate with project managers and creative directors to optimize delivery timelines without compromising quality
- Identify patterns in feedback and work with leadership to implement systemic improvements
- Create documentation, training materials, and best practices to elevate team-wide quality
- Track quality metrics and report on trends, risks, and opportunities to senior leadership
- Foster a culture of continuous improvement and creative excellence
What We're Looking For
- 5+ years of experience in design, creative operations, or quality management (agency experience preferred)
- 2+ years leading teams or managing people in a creative environment
- Strong design background with expert understanding of visual design principles, brand systems, and creative strategy
- Proven track record building or scaling quality processes in a fast-paced environment
- Excellent leadership and coaching skills — you know how to develop talent and give feedback that elevates
- Strategic thinker who can balance quality standards with business needs and deadlines
- Outstanding communication skills across all levels, from designers to C-suite
- Experience with design tools like Adobe Creative Suite, Figma, and project management platforms
- Process-oriented with a data-driven approach to measuring and improving quality
