Overview

GovCIO is hiring an experiencedMilleniumData Architect with deepexpertisein cloud and network engineering to support modernization efforts for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This role focuses onidentifyingarchitectural migration patterns, resolving provisioning and schema challenges, and improving legacyVistAproducts. This position is fully remote,locatedin the United States.

Responsibilities

  • Demonstrateexpertisein Millennium data modeling, including schema design and optimization.
  • Collaborate with data modelers to design scalable, normalized database architectures.
  • Apply deep knowledge of database theory and modeling concepts to support VA enterprise systems.
  • Lead the development of system conceptual designs and comprehensive documentation to ensure clarity, efficiency, and alignment with VAobjectives.
  • Define and implement system-level verification procedures and customer acceptance test protocols to ensure high-quality deliverables.
  • Review andvalidatetest plans and procedures, ensuring compliance with contractual and industry standards.
  • Conduct in-depth data analysis toidentifyarchitectural migration patterns and resolve dependencies.

Qualifications

Bachelor's with 12+ years (or commensurate experience)

Required Skills And Experience

  • Must havedata modeling and database theoryexpertise
  • Proficiency in automation tools and scripting (Python, Terraform, Ansible). 
  • Strong interpersonal skills to collaborate with customers and internal cross-functional teams. 
  • Experience with virtual and/or cloud-based servers and applications. 
  • Excellent technical documentation and reporting skills. 
  • Experience working in an Agile environment.

Clearance Required

  • Clearance Required:Ability to obtain andmaintaina Suitability/Public Trust clearance

Preferred Skills And Experience

  • Experience withMillenium Modelling
  • Experience using CDW, writing queries and familiarity with CDW data products
  • Certifications: 
  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty 
  • Microsoft Certified: Azure Network Engineer Associate 
  • Cisco CCNA or CCNP

Posted Pay Range

The posted pay range, if referenced, reflects the range expected for this position at the commencement of employment, however, base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including market location, job-related knowledge, skills, education, experience, and internal equity. The total compensation package for this position may also include other compensation elements, to be discussed during the hiring process. If hired, employee will be in an “at-will position” and the GovCIO reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, GovCIO or individual department/team performance, and market factors.

Posted Salary Range

USD $150,000.00 - USD $170,000.00 /Yr.
