Job Summary
The Finance Systems Product Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and managing the development, implementation, and optimization of financial systems and applications across the organization. This role involves working closely with Finance leadership, IT, vendors, and cross-functional teams through the full SDLC process to ensure that ERP solutions and integrated financial applications are successfully deployed, meet business requirements, and maintain seamless interoperability with existing systems. The role also includes aspects of product ownership, including managing application backlogs, prioritizing enhancements, and ensuring that new features deliver business value to the Finance department.
Responsibilities
Project Management:
- Lead the planning, scheduling, and execution of ERP implementation, upgrade, and enhancement projects.
- Manage integration projects between the ERP system and third-party financial applications (e.g., expense management, AP automation, treasury management, reporting tools).
- Ensure that projects are completed on time, within scope, and aligned with Finance department objectives and organizational strategy.
- Adopt agile methodology, apply its principles, and train users.
- Identify improvement opportunities (proactive and reactive) within financial systems and processes.
- Assist in tracking progress of deliverables and communicating status to Finance leadership.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with Finance, Accounting, IT, and external vendors.
- Ensure application development efforts are prioritized based on business value, compliance requirements, and alignment with Finance goals.
ERP & Systems Integration:
- Serve as the subject matter expert for ERP solutions and their integration with the broader financial technology ecosystem.
- Manage interoperability between ERP modules and third-party applications, ensuring data integrity and process efficiency.
- Oversee API integrations, data feeds, and middleware solutions connecting financial systems.
- Evaluate and recommend third-party applications that complement or extend ERP functionality.
- Ensure system configurations support financial controls, audit requirements, and regulatory compliance.
Business Analysis / Stakeholder Engagement:
- Work with Finance, Accounting, and other business units to gather and document requirements for financial systems.
- Act as the primary point of contact between Finance, IT, and vendors, ensuring alignment between technical delivery and business needs.
- Work with business users, technology team, and external vendors to identify and understand needs related to financial reporting, GL, AP/AR, budgeting, and forecasting.
- Elicit, analyze, and validate requirements; understand dependencies and perform gap analysis.
- Document requirements and specifications and provide to all stakeholders for approval.
- Coordinate closely with developers to ensure requirements are communicated, implemented, and aligned with the broader Finance systems vision.
- Work closely with Finance users to verify business requirements are met and assist them with UAT testing.
- Maintain a prioritized backlog of features and enhancements, incorporating input from Finance leadership, auditors, and internal teams.
Team Coordination:
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including IT, Finance, Accounting, and Operations, to ensure seamless integration and operation of financial applications.
Quality Assurance:
- Oversee and participate in testing processes to ensure that financial systems function as intended and maintain data integrity.
- Identify and resolve issues during the implementation process.
- Ensure system changes comply with SOX controls and audit requirements where applicable.
Training and Support:
- Develop and deliver training programs for Finance end-users on ERP and integrated applications.
- Provide ongoing support post-implementation to ensure user adoption and satisfaction.
Risk Management:
- Identify potential risks related to system implementations, integrations, and data security, and develop mitigation strategies.
Reporting:
- Generate reports on implementation progress, budget status, and key performance indicators.
- Present findings to senior management and Finance leadership.
Qualifications
Education and/or Experience
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Information Technology, Business Administration, or a related field.
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in IT project management, business analysis, software implementation, or a related role with a focus on financial systems.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience with ERP solutions (e.g., Sage Intacct, SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics, Workday Financials).
- Demonstrated experience managing ERP integrations and third-party application interoperability.
- Experience within the healthcare/healthcare technology industry preferred, not required.
Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in project management software (e.g., Monday, Jira, Azure DevOps, etc.)
- Strong understanding of ERP architecture, modules (GL, AP, AR, FA, etc.), and integration patterns (APIs, EDI, middleware).
- Experience with financial system integrations including expense management, treasury, budgeting/planning, and reporting tools.
- Experience creating application USDI mockups/designs preferred.
- Understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC) in an Agile methodology.
- Familiarity with SOX compliance and financial controls preferred.

- Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate Finance requirements into technical specifications.
