About The Role
Genesis10 is seeking a highly skilled and motivated Senior Cloud Engineer for a permanent position with a prominent client located in Oshkosh, WI. This hybrid role offers an excellent opportunity for professionals passionate about cloud technology and security to contribute to innovative cloud ecosystem solutions. The Senior Cloud Engineer will be responsible for supporting, managing, and optimizing the Microsoft Azure Gov Cloud environment, ensuring secure, scalable, and efficient cloud operations. The role involves collaborating with cross-functional teams, implementing cloud security standards, and driving cloud adoption initiatives that enhance organizational capabilities. Candidates should possess a strong background in cloud engineering, particularly within Azure Gov Cloud, and demonstrate a proactive approach to problem-solving and continuous learning. The position offers a competitive salary ranging from $91,000 to $153,000, complemented by a 7.5% bonus through the Organization Incentive Program (OIP). Relocation assistance is available, and candidates based near Frederick, MD, or McConnellsburg, PA, will also be considered.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate will have a minimum of four (4) years of experience in cloud engineering or a related technical field, with proven expertise in managing and supporting cloud environments. Critical requirements include hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure Gov Cloud, demonstrating familiarity with cloud deployment, configuration, and security management. Candidates should possess strong communication skills, a self-starter mindset, and a positive attitude, with a stable work history indicating long-term commitment. Proficiency in monitoring, troubleshooting, scripting, automation, and orchestration tools is essential. Preferred qualifications include a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or a related field, along with an advanced understanding of public and private cloud architectures, data security standards, virtualization, containerization, DevOps practices, networking, and scripting languages. Additional requirements involve availability for a multi-step interview process, onsite presence at least three days per week, and the ability to work as a W2 employee of Genesis10.
Responsibilities
The Senior Cloud Engineer will be tasked with providing comprehensive operational support for the Microsoft Azure Gov Cloud ecosystem. This includes managing installations, configurations, deployments, integrations, updates, and ongoing administration using tools such as Azure Kubernetes, Terraform Enterprise, and GitHub. The role involves driving profitable cloud adoption by promoting cloud-based services across the organization and ensuring best practices are followed for security, threat protection, identity and access management, and data protection standards. The engineer will manage data feeds and integration processes, ensuring reliable and secure data exchange between systems. Monitoring and analyzing cloud ecosystem performance is vital to optimize operations and troubleshoot issues promptly. The candidate will participate in cross-functional project teams, collaborating with server, storage, database, security, and application teams to design and implement complex cloud solutions. Ensuring disaster recovery, data backup standards, and adherence to ITIL processes are integral parts of the role. The engineer will also pursue continuous learning to adopt new cloud automation, CI/CD, and process improvement technologies, while maintaining stakeholder communication and performing additional duties as assigned.
