Job Description

Data Analytics Engineer

Remote: United Kingdom - Remote

Full time

About the company

At Semble, we are on a mission to enable health professionals to amplify their impact. We improve the way healthcare is delivered to millions of people by providing doctors and their teams with powerful, innovative, intuitive, and secure software. Our cloud-based clinical system is already used by thousands of clinicians, making their lives easier and saving them money, while structuring their health data to help research.

We are a passionate and driven team, proud to unite under strong cultural drivers:

  • Impact - We do work that matters.
  • Collaboration – We are in it together.
  • Human touch – We care deeply.

We are also quick to embrace new technologies: we have rapidly adopted AI internally, and we are always looking to work with people who are excited to augment their work with AI.

Location

This role can be fully remote in the UK and EU (with occasional travel to our London office) within +/- 2 hours of the GMT time zone. We are unfortunately not able to consider candidates located outside these locations and time zones at this stage.

What you will be doing

We have invested significantly in building a state-of-the-art data platform with robust infrastructure and processes. Now, we're ready to unlock its full potential by focusing on internal analytics that will be critical for our company growth. As our first Data Analyst, you'll play a pivotal role in turning data into actionable insights that drive decisions across the entire organisation.

Your primary responsibility will be to partner with different departments to understand their needs, build analytics solutions, and deliver insights through dashboards, reports, and strategic data products. You'll work with a mature data infrastructure, allowing you to focus on what matters most: translating complex data into clear, compelling stories that influence business strategy.

As part of the data team, you'll have the unique opportunity to understand both the product development side and the data engineering side of the business. This positioning will give you exposure to how features are built, how data flows through the system, and how to leverage this understanding to create more impactful analytics for the organisation.

You will:

  • Partner with stakeholders across Revenue, Product, Operations, Sales, Marketing, and Finance to understand their analytical needs and translate them into data solutions.
  • Design, build, and maintain dashboards and reports using Databricks to enable self-service analytics across the organisation.
  • Conduct exploratory data analysis to uncover trends, patterns, and opportunities that drive strategic decision-making.
  • Develop analytics ready tables, creating reliable, high-quality datasets that serve as the foundation for business intelligence.
  • Work closely with data and software engineers to leverage and optimize the existing data infrastructure.
  • Communicate insights effectively to both technical and non-technical audiences, making complex data accessible and actionable.
  • Define and track key metrics (KPIs) that measure business performance and inform strategic priorities.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements and data-driven optimisation across departments.
  • Champion data literacy within the organisation, helping teams understand and leverage data effectively.
  • Contribute to the development of our internal analytics roadmap, shaping how we use data to accelerate growth.

What we are looking for

We are looking for a data analyst who thrives at the intersection of data and business strategy. You have a strong analytical mindset, excellent communication skills, and the ability to translate complex data into insights that drive action. You're comfortable working with stakeholders across the organisation and can balance multiple priorities while delivering high-quality work.

  • 3+ years' professional experience as a cloud Data Analyst or in a similar analytical role.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL for querying, transforming, and analysing data.
  • Experience with Python for data analysis and scripting is a plus.
  • Experience working with modern data platforms such as Databricks, Snowflake, or similar cloud-based data warehouses.
  • Familiarity with business intelligence tools such as Power BI, Tableau, Metabase, or similar platforms is valued.
  • Understanding of data modelling concepts, including dimensional modelling, medallion architecture, and others.
  • Experience conducting exploratory data analysis and presenting findings to drive business decisions.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work with large datasets and identify meaningful patterns.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills—you can explain technical concepts to non-technical audiences and influence decision-making with data.
  • Ability to work independently, prioritise effectively, and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • A collaborative mindset with a passion for enabling others to leverage data effectively.
  • Experience in healthcare or regulated industries is desirable.
