About The Role
The Human Resources Operations Specialist at Contec plays a vital role in supporting the HR functions by delivering exceptional service and managing a wide range of HR processes. Reporting directly to the Sr. Director of HR Operations, this remote position involves working closely with employees, managers, and external partners to ensure seamless HR service delivery. The role encompasses transactional support for onboarding, internal mobility, relocation, immigration, offboarding, and other employee lifecycle activities. The specialist will handle incoming HR inquiries via Workday cases, emails, and calls, providing accurate guidance and support while maintaining compliance with applicable laws and regulations. This position requires a proactive approach to process improvement, data management, and cross-functional collaboration to enhance the overall employee experience.
Qualifications
- High School diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or related field preferred
- Minimum of two years of full-time experience in Human Resources
- Proficiency with Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS), preferably Workday
- Intermediate skills in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP functions
- Knowledge of employment laws, regulations, and HR policies
- Experience handling confidential information with integrity and discretion
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Results-oriented with a customer focus
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines effectively
- Team-oriented with the ability to work independently and collaboratively
- SharePoint experience is a plus
- Serve as the first point of contact for HR-related inquiries through Workday cases, emails, and phone calls
- Support employee lifecycle processes including onboarding, job changes, compensation adjustments, relocations, and offboarding activities
- Initiate and monitor transaction workflows within the HRIS to ensure data accuracy and timely processing
- Provide guidance to employees and managers on HR policies, programs, and tools
- Ensure compliance with all relevant labor laws and internal policies regarding employee data privacy
- Participate in process improvement initiatives by sharing insights and feedback
- Assist in preparing severance documents and processing related payments
- Respond to unemployment claims and coordinate with external agencies as needed
- Generate and maintain reports within Workday and participate in user acceptance testing
- Coordinate with internal departments such as Payroll, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, and IT for seamless HR operations
- Manage administrative tasks including invoice coding, submitting service tickets to IT, and reporting to government agencies
