🎯 Your Mission
At Joko, we believe talent is our most valuable asset. With an ambitious plan to hire 60+ talents in the coming year and a strong international growth strategy, we are looking for a Talent Acquisition Manager to lead our hiring efforts, with a strong focus on Spain.
You will play a key role in building high-performing teams while structuring and continuously improving our recruitment practices. You will report directly to the VP People and act as a strategic partner to hiring managers.
🚀 What You Will Do
Strategic recruitment & talent attraction (Spain focus)
- Define and execute a recruitment strategy tailored to the Spanish market (candidate expectations, sourcing channels, salary benchmarks).
- Develop strong knowledge of the Spanish start-up and scale-up ecosystem (especially Madrid, Barcelona, Valencia, etc.).
- Identify and activate the most relevant local sourcing channels (job boards, communities, universities, events).
- Own and optimize the full recruitment process using Ashby (ATS), ensuring efficiency, quality, and compliance.
- Build and manage partnerships with recruitment agencies, universities, and key ecosystem players in Spain.
- Design and deliver an engaging and high-quality candidate experience, aligned with Joko’s culture and adapted to the Spanish market.
- Partner with the Marketing team to localize and strengthen employer branding in Spain.
- Implement tools to track candidate feedback and continuously improve the hiring journey.
- Act as a true Business Partner to Hiring Managers.
- Co-create job descriptions, scorecards, and evaluation frameworks.
- Train and support Hiring Managers on best interview and hiring practices.
- Establish feedback loops to continuously improve hiring effectiveness and quality.
- Build and improve recruitment processes, including scorecards, interview grids, and reporting.
- Lead recruitment-related projects (ATS optimization, process standardization, data tracking).
- Collaborate closely with People teams (People Ops, HRBP) on:
- Spanish salary benchmarking
- local employment practices
- onboarding strategies for talents based in Spain
Experience & Background
- 3 to 6 years of experience in Talent Acquisition, primarily in start-up and/or scale-up environments.
- Proven experience recruiting for the Spanish market.
- Experience owning end-to-end recruitment processes (not limited to sourcing and interviews).
- Hands-on experience building or improving recruitment processes and tools (ATS, scorecards, hiring metrics).
- Strong ability to position yourself as a Business Partner to Hiring Managers.
- Data-driven mindset, with experience tracking and analyzing recruitment KPIs.
- Highly structured, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Comfortable in fast-growing, ambiguous environments.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a strong interest in people-related topics.

- Intro call: Quick screening with the Hiring Manager or a recruiter.
- Step 1 – Team interview (45 min): Conversation with two Joko team members (could include the Hiring Manager, people from the team you’d join, or colleagues from other teams).
- Step 2 – Role-specific assessments
- For non-tech roles: Take-home case study followed by a 45 min debrief. We assess both your output and how you think in real time. The exercise will be relevant to the role (e.g. analysis, strategy, or process design).
- For tech roles: Live technical interviews:
- Coding interview + System design interview
- For research internships, an additional round may involve analyzing and presenting a research paper
- Step 3 – Founders interview (45 min): Conversation with two of our founders.
