About tZERO
At tZERO, we are at the intersection of Wall Street and Web3. We don't just follow the blockchain trend; we build the regulated digital asset infrastructure that is changing how the world trades and connects with capital. We are looking for an Entry level Blockchain Engineer who doesn’t just want a "dev job," but wants to play with the "DNA" of blockchain to build products that don't exist yet.
The Role
This isn't your typical entry-level role. We aren't looking for a list of degrees or a stack of certifications. We are looking for curiosity. We want someone who spends their free time reading whitepapers, exploring GitHub repos, and trying to break things just to see how they work. You will be part of a team tasked with testing new concepts and "stretching" blockchain technology to its limits. Because we operate in a regulated space, you will also be cross-trained in Cybersecurity, learning the offensive and defensive disciplines required to keep decentralized systems safe.
What We’re Looking For
- Genuine Passion: You have an opinion on where blockchain is going. You follow the evolution of L1s, L2s, and the intersection of TradFi and DeFi.
- The "Tinkerer" Mindset: You are a builder. You’ve probably tried to mint an NFT, deploy a basic smart contract, or set up a node just for the fun of it.
- Code Competency: We don’t care where you learned to code (self-taught, bootcamp, or otherwise), but you must be able to demonstrate the basics in an IDE of your choice during our technical chat.
- Hungry to Learn: You’ll be working on products that have no blueprint. You must be comfortable with "I don't know yet, but I'll figure it out."
What You’ll Do
- Experiment: Rapidly prototype and test new blockchain features and "experimental DNA" products.
- Collaborate: Work alongside senior engineers to maintain and optimize our regulated digital asset stack.
- Security Training: Participate in cross-disciplinary training for cybersecurity, focusing on smart contract audits and network security.
- Document: Keep track of what works and, more importantly, what doesn't work during the R&D process.
Requirements (The "Actual" List)
- No specific degree or certification required.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language (e.g., Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Go, or Solidity).
- Comfortable using Git and a standard IDE (VS Code, IntelliJ, etc.).
- A portfolio, GitHub, or just a really cool project you can show us on your screen.
