Job Description
Azure Security Engineer, fully remote
We are seeking a Senior Azure Security Engineer to join an established software consulting firm with long-term contracts supporting multiple Property & Casualty and reinsurance carriers, as the firm helps these clients modernize and secure their cloud environments.
This is a fully remote role (working East Coast hours) offered as a minimum one-year contract with multi-year renewals, plus performance-based bonuses. The role is highly hands-on and senior, responsible for designing and implementing Azure security architecture from a clean slate, securing identities, networks, workloads, and data, configuring firewall rules and service principals, managing intrusion detection and monitoring, and ensuring compliance in regulated insurance environments.
The ideal candidate brings 15+ years of overall experience, 10+ years in Azure (AWS-to-Azure transition acceptable), and deep cloud security expertise, including an active SC-100 certification; AZ-500 and SC-200 are strong pluses. Experience with Microsoft’s security stack (Defender for Cloud, Sentinel, Intune, Purview), ISO 27001 and SOC 2 controls, and partnering with legal and compliance teams is essential, with the opportunity to grow into leading additional security resources over time.
