CTO/SVP Engineering Database Expert

My client is looking for a CTO/ SVP Engineering Database Expert reporting to the CEO.

My client is a fast-growing, innovative company with a strong commitment to open source. They are seeking a passionate and a Database expert drive the technical vision and strategy. This role reports to the CEO

My client has a very unique opensourse database that allows companies to access data insight at scale and speed. The company has an impressive client base and is growing rapidly.

1. Collaborate with VP Product on overall technology, product vision and strategy ensuring that both Engineering and Product Management are in sync and support the broader company goals and objectives.
2. Be responsible for designing and implementing the technical architecture of the company's products, ensuring scalability, maintainability, and performance
3. Evaluate and implement new technologies and tools to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the development process.
4. Implement and maintain best practices in software development, quality assurance, IT operations.
5. Lead the engineering teams, fostering a culture of innovation, collaboration and continuous improvement, and open-source contributions.
6. Monitor KPIs and manage the company's technology budget, making strategic investments in personnel, infrastructure, and software.
7. Establish and maintain relationships with key technology partners, vendors, open-source communities, and industry thought leaders.

Requirements:

1. Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. 10 years of experience in software development and engineering, with at least 5 years in a similar leadership role.
2. A Database expert who can demonstrate deep knowledge with distributed databases, SQL, NoSQL, Postgres and other relevant technologies.
3. CV MUST clearly mention all database knowledge & expertise used (ie MongoDB, Postgre, AWS, Snowflake, MariaDB, etc…)
4. Strong understanding of IoT, streaming data, ML/AI and real-time data analytics use cases.
5. Proven track record of driving technology strategy and execution in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.

We are looking for someone with experience in working for large technologies organisation and also startups.

Relocation to Germany is required.
